                                                   Dayna - Veterinary Assistant

                                       aengus_photo.jpg
Dayna’s passion for animals started at an early age.  She grew up in a home that was always filled with dogs, cats, birds, and an occasional ferret, pet mice, rabbits.  At the age of 8, Dayna was introduced to horses and loved it from the start. She was given her first horse at age 9 and her love of horsed continued to grow.  Her passion turned into a young career of showing Hunters and Jumpers both on a national level and international level. In her teens, Dayna even showed horses for other clients and was labeled the “pony queen” because of her keen handling of the often feisty ponies.

Dayna and her Mom traveled throughout the Midwest attending competitions.  Wanting to cover many areas of the horse world, Dayna learned to braid horses for extra money and did horse transportation for other clients. She learned how to rehabilitate injured horses and nurture the aging equine. After almost 20 years in the horse industry, Dayna left behind her professional career with vast knowledge and great learning experiences.

But while Dayna was riding, she also had a passion for showing and working with her dogs.   Her first AKC title was when she was 11 with her Golden Retriever, Ginger and that was just the beginning.  Since then, Dayna continues to do competitive Agility, Rally, Conformation, and Obedience. Team Dayna consists of Josephine a Jack Russell Terrier, Aengus a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and Fiona a Staffordshire Bull Terrier the newest addition at 9 months old just starting her career.

When Dayna isn’t competing with her dogs, she can be found in the pits at the drag strip helping her Fiancé Fred and her Dad working on her Dad’s 1964 Chevelle drag car. And when time allows, Dayna and Fred enjoy walking their dogs, riding their Harley’s, and working on projects together.
